The Say No and Go Society has a no tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior of any kind. Over the years we have seen discrimination in so many forms that it is completely disgusting to allow it to exist these days. We remember in the 80's we experienced discrimination in the Universities as well as in the work force. After September 11, 2001 there has been so much religious discrimination out of the ignorance of people throughout the world. We would like to mention a few examples which have happened recently.
While performing the Say No and Go program for many students we usually ask them if there is something that needs to be addressed which they would like to talk about. One of the students raised his hand and mentioned that last week (The first week in March of 2005) they were being taught Geography in their class by a teacher who stated the following: While showing a map of the world the teacher pointed out to Europe and said this is where Europe is, then she pointed to the country of Africa and said this is the African Nation, then she pointed to China and said that this is where China is and when she pointed to the Middle East, she said and this is where the Terrorist come from." The moment she said this all of the students of the class turned their faces at the only child in the room who looked like he was from a Middle Eastern Country.
In the same School District we found out that there is a teacher who refuses to have a Muslim student in her classroom. One of the students in this teachers classroom mentioned that he was a Muslim and the moment she realized this she had him transferred to another class because she refused to teach him due to his religion. Within two days the child was in another classroom and the School Board encourages this behavior.
The school board of both of these incidents and all they had to say is the following: "If there is anything like this happening in our schools the child himself along with his parents must go to the Principle of the school and report this directly." Why is it that it is the responsibility of a young child, who has been discriminated because of his or her religion, has to go all by himself to the Principle of the school when it was reported already to the School Board? Why is it that they will not do a full investigation on these two teachers in the same School District?
Apparently the School District does not fully understand the consequences of their actions because in the working environment if someone is allowed to discriminate and it is allowed by the company, than the entire company is liable legally for this action as if they fully support it. Especially if they were informed that there is a problem and they chose never to addressed it. They are responsible to open up a full investigation immediately and act accordingly.
We have a few things to say to this School District:
First, of all we would like to point out that apparently they have a teacher who knows where the terrorist come from, because she is teaching the students this in her classroom. If this is the case we would love to have the details about her information because the entire world is looking for terrorist. The Government of the United States as well as the Secret Service, the FBI and the CIA and the Nations around the entire world are having a hard time finding these terrorist, yet she is able to point to where they all come from and is allowed to teach the students this in her classroom based on no facts whatsoever.
Secondly, we would like to point out that the following Prophets who taught that terrorism is wrong as well as the Oneness of God include: Abraham, Moses, Jesus, John the Baptist and Prophet Muhammad all came from the Middle East. There are many religions which are started in the Middle East which include Christianity, Judaism and Islam. So therefore is she stating that the Terrorists are the Christians, Jews or the Muslims and anyone who believes in the Oneness of GOD or anyone who comes from the Middle East?
Thirdly, we would like to know if this teacher understands the definition of terrorism the definition of a terrorist? Because, nobody in the world is clearly addressing this recently and if she understood the true meaning she would realize that she could be labeled as a terrorist herself.
So we would like to point to the New Lexicon Webster's Dictionary of the English Language Encyclopedic Edition revised and updated in 1987 page 1021 to clarify this:
terror n. great fear || a person or thing that causes great fear || (pop.) a person who is a dreadful nuisance the Terror the period of the French Revolution from the fall of the Girondists (June 27, 1793) to the fall of the Robespierre (July 27, 1794), dominated by the Committee of Public Safety. Its mass executions were intended to galvanize national resistance in the face of foreign invasion. [O.F. terreur]
terrorism a. the policy of using acts inspiring terror as a method of ruling or of conducting political opposition [F. terrorisme]
terrorist n. the policy of using acts inspiring terror as a method of ruling or of conducting political opposition [F. terrorisme]
The Say No and Go Society would like to point out that terrorism is happening all over the world and when it happens we must fight it by speaking up and putting a stop to it immediately. As a matter of fact when these teachers behave this way against their students they are teaching terrorism by example. These young students have been terrorized by both of these teachers and when the School Board does nothing about it they are also directly supporting terrorism. Not looking into this directly and addressing the problem which was faced to them this week and being silent, is supporting the inappropriate behavior of these teachers. Anyone who hears or witnesses anything that puts terror into the minds of another individual or group and does nothing about it must understand the consequences of their silent behavior.
We have all been taught that if you say nothing at all about something good or bad and allow it to go on without addressing it means that you are agreeing to this behavior and accepting it as a standard for the society you live in.
We encourage children and adults and our School Boards to join the Say No and Go Society by not accepting inappropriate behavior. We will support anyone who has issues with any discrimination or inappropriate behavior of any kind. We must educate the public about not being so ignorant regarding this unacceptable behavior and we encourage everyone to act by Joining the Say No and Go Society today. Together with your support we can make a difference.
Please take the time and ask your children if things like this are happening in your schools and address them immediately. Then join our Say No and Go Society right away.
